=====Land Transfer Events to Statehood (1788)=====

Colonial Land Claims 
1783    Treaty with Great Britain, "District of Maine"'s Northern borders in dispute until 1842.

1785    Massachusetts relinquishs claims to Southern portions of Wisconsin and Michigan.

1786    New York and Massachusetts claims to Western New York are
	adjusted and control given to New York.

1788    Massachusetts admitted to the Union as 6th State.

1820    District of Maine separated from Massachusetts.
