1795    North/Central portions of Spanish West Florida are relinquished by Spain.

1810    West half of West Florida seized from Spain.

1813    East half (remainder) of West Florida seized from Spain.

1819    Spain relinquishs claims to East Florida.

1822    East Florida organized as Territory of Florida.

1845    Florida admitted to the Union as 27th State.
